![]() They are vice personified, and various demonic creatures and lords are tanar’ri. The tanar’ri are dominant and are souls that have been infected with chaos. They rule the Abyss in modern times and were created when evil human souls entered the Abyss. The tanar’ri are the demons that we see today. Some even think they came from another reality altogether. The obyriths were almost eldritch in nature, and they predated mortal races and even the gods themselves. They also created the tanar’ri, the second race of demons, and they were subsequently defeated by slave rebellions and sent into hiding. The obyriths are the oldest of the demonic raises, and they had ruled the abyss for years. ![]() There are three main categories of demons, with the first being the obyriths. In fact, they are vastly different and hate one another. For starters all demons and devils are fiends, and demons and devils are not the same things. I'm considering trying out flanking advantage, but also making it harder to get into flanking by making OA's more strict. ![]() People just run around enemies willy nilly and flank all the time.īut, looking at how much value the DMG monster creator places on pack tactics (+1 attack), I'm wondering if the designers expected advantage to be more common. I have found flanking to be too easy to attain in his games (especially since I play a cleric in his game and he let's me flank with my spiritual weapon). He uses the flanking advantage rule, while I don't, and this has been becoming a point of contention at our games lately. ![]()
